I recently read that Ming Na is now involved in various projects and
realized that she is no longer with the show. I don't recall missing
any episodes this past season so can anyone refresh my memory as to
what took place during her last episode?

Thanks.

It was the Christmas episode and she resigned after euthanizing her elderly
father at his request. Ming na had several good scenes with MP in it.

Something along the lines of; "So you are just protecting your own ass.
A one month suspension? Well screw you Kerry, I quit."

Well to be fair, Chen did have quite a few 'Last Episodes'
Let's see, there's the one where she left a guide wire inside a patient and
dropped out of Med School.
then there's the one a few years later "so I'm losing the CR position and
being suspended for a month so you can protect your ass Kerry, I quit"
then there's the "what do you mean there's nobody to cover for me on
Christmas eve. I've got a parent to kill, I quit"

Oh wow, I'm confusing these last two. I just saw the episode where she
pockets the potassium.

While, I am one of the few who, actually, liked the characted of Jing-Mei
Chen, I guess the writers decided they would keep doing it until they got it
right -- or until Ming-Na stayed gone whichever came first!! Honestly, I
think the first season she wasn't even really a regular, was she? Wasn't
Deb sort of a re-ocurring character? Then, yes, we did have the season 8
debaucle where she quit when Kerry covered her own ass -- and Ming-Na had
another project in the wings that fell flat. Now, she has another series
due in the fall -- wonder if Jing-Mei will come back if "Inconceivable"
fails? I mean, it is getting a bit ridiculous, even for a county hospital
that might be desperate for staff!

In season 8, they had to take her back -- or face a major lawsuit -- given
the knowledge that Kerry had left her pager at Doc Magoo's. As far as the
med school thing -- I would venture almost every med school student has done
something wrong -- probably seriously wrong -- many just are lucky that
someone else is able to save their necks. But, this time.....they would
really have to do some quick talking to take her back......of course, I
guess she is breathing which is often the only qualification necessary to
work at County!! ;-P

I liked her too, Michelle. I'd love to see her come back and be a strong
member of a not-so-strong cast.

Yep, for a few months ("Luck of the Draw" to "House of Cards", missing
onlyy "Sleepless in Chicago").

"You have a medical license and haven't killed *too* many people this
week? You're hired! Welcome aboard!" (And unless their employee
reference-checking has improved significantly since Amanda Lee - though
somehow I doubt it *cough*Neecole*cough* - the medical license may even
be optional.)

Something along the lines of; "So you are just protecting your own ass.

That was from season 8 episode 4 "Never Say Never." From the a.t.e. summary:
http://www.digiserve.com/er/episodes/season8/er804s-r.html

"Just blame everyone but yourself, Kerry." Kerry tries to say she's sorry,
but Chen cuts her off. "You're not sorry, Kerry--just relieved." Before
Kerry can say anything more, Chen tells her, "Go to hell Kerry--I quit."
Chen stalks out, leaving behind a stunned Kerry.

Chen came back after threatening to sue the hospital. She eventually left
for good this past season (11) during the Christmas episode.

They'll bring here back. She's ER's version of Spock.
