Post by Sharon TooPost by CoryHm... I honestly thought Ray had died in that accident. I don't know
why I thought that, though.
Because they left the image of Ray's eyes in the headlights of the oncoming
vehicle as the cliffhanger. The next episode had Neela going to the hospital
he was at and seeing the stumps of his legs where they were amputated. Ray
blamed her.... the girl with him blamed her... He went home to Baton Rouge.
Now, like nothing was between them, he shows up and it's all water under the
bridge. I thought it was schmaltzy.

The preciptaing factor was the fight between Gates and Ray at the
party (I remember now, Ray started it) and Neela having a hard time
choosing between them. Ray wrongly blamed Neela for being indecisive
IIRC and not choosing him which led to him getting drunk after being
thrown out of the party by Pratt for fighting. Drunk, he walked into
the middle of the street and chose then to answer his cell. I think
the girl who blamed her was his sister (or maybe former girl friend)?
Anyway, Neela has since broken up with Gates. Ray has had a long time
to think and he realizes how stupid it was to blame Neela for his
frustration and for answering his voice mail in the street. Neela's
heart now belongs to Ray but for some reason niether made the move.
Yes I know Reese was a cold shower but still if they really wanted
to...
It is obvious it is not becase Ray's legs are gone. Medical care
workers, especially female I feel, are blessedly unbothered by such
silly things, unlike me. Stay with a girl after she got in a horrible
accident like that yes, especially if it is my wife, but going into a
relationship like that from the start? I don't think I am that
tolerant unfortunately. Character flaw.
