The new ER Chief is being played by Angela Basset. Opening montage is a
nice touch of introducing new Interns and the new Chief- She's a Hard
Ass Broad.

In more ways than one.

I already like her better than Carrie; she's tough, but she has a
reason when she screams at somebody. She wants to bring out the best in
everyone, while Carrie just liked to scream.

Also, she seems to have some of that thing Luka brought when he was
surprised at how freely they ordered expensive tests when he was used
to third-world hospitals.

She's only temporary until Abby takes over in the set-up for the new
spin-off show "Abby" ... it only needs one name, just like "House".

You mean she isn't going to die next week, so she can get the big,
tear-jerking, emotional sendoff traditionally given the Queen of the
Whole World?

Speaking of Abby, the commercials I've seen thus far for this week's
show make me wanna hurl. In deference to spoiler obsessed people,
that's all I'm gonna say...

You mean Abby's not going to be in the episode at all?!? That would be
hugely sickening! ;-)

Why do you prefer the term "hurl" to "blow chunks"?

Seriously, whenever I hear the words "blow chunks", I get sick to my

Isn't that the point? Hurling sounds like something you do with a baseball.

And if *that* doesn't sound like a euphemism for barfing... "Man, I
got so wasted last night I was drifting my thread all off the side of
the road into the gravel and everything, for hours!"

Well, both you guys got a chuckle from me, good work.

(Been a while since the three brothers; Chuck, Earl, and Ralph, payed a
visit.)

But back on topic, Ms. Bassett is boom'n.
