15 years I have watched this show. Now I will not have it to watch
anymore. True they have it on DVD but I can't afford them right now.

Glad to see that Rachel and Elizabeth seemed to have made peace with
each other after the whole Ella incident.Glad to see it was the same
actresss that played Rachel years ago too.

Nice to see some nice tributes to season one. I was SHOCKED to see
Lydia again. Have not seen her in years. Also nice to hear the old
opening again. They stopped playing it so long ago.
Granted it may not have bene the most spectacular finale. But as they
said they did not want to wrap things up in a neat package because in
real life the ER keeps going. To have this show wrap up in a neat
package I think would have been wrong to me.

I wish they would have had Doug and Carol on one more time though!

This show has been on for more than 1/3 of my life!.....and I've
watched each & every show except for when the show crossed over w/ the
missing little Susie storyline. For some odd reason, I haven't seen
that one. (my VCR was messed up at the time or some such thing.)
I have S1-7 on DVD. And some shows of the other later seasons on
tape.

I was glad of that, too. I was surprised to see how lovey-dovey
Elizabeth was towards Kerry. She wasn't her most favorite person in
the world. (I think it was more of the actresses love for each other
showing there.)

I was, too!!! I yelled, "Lydia!" when she came on the screen. (hubby
was in the room.)

I was sooo hoping they would play the theme song & I was not
dissappointed!

maybe another child......I was so hoping they would've had another
child.

Didn't she lose her uterus when she had the twins? She bled out or
something.

Maybe...but of course, they could have adopted another one

Nope, just watched the eppy yesterday. She was adamant about keeping
her uterus. Mark stood up for her......later Abby said Carol owed her
future children to Mark. :-)

I liked the camera moving out to show the hospital (including the
"County General Hospital" sign) and the El track, complete with train
zooming by. That's not a view they've ever shown before, is it?

Eeh. I was okay with having just the one "for old time's sake"
appearance - it was nice to see that they're still doing well, but I
don't need to see them again. (Phyl may have other opinions on the
matter, however. *g*)

Don't forget about little (well, now grown up) Reese Benton made an
appearance! I wonder if the actor even remembers all those scenes he
was in as a toddler. According to his IMDB, ER's the only thing he
was ever in. Guess he got old enough to let his parents know he
didn't wanna be a child actor.... Glad he agreed to be in the finale
though.

I don't believe we've ever gotten a panoramic shot like that where virtually
the entire hospital building was in view. Nice use of CGI, IMO.

The young man who plays Reese is deaf in real life and was chosen for the
role for just that reason. I don't think his parents ever intended for him
to have a career as a child actor; I believe they allowed him to do the role
because they liked the way ER told the story of Benton and Carla discovering
Reese was deaf and dealing with it. It was a great story arc, IMO, one that
had never really been explored so realistically on TV.

Had no idea that was the case. When he first appeared during Carter's
speech, at least to me, he was instantly recognizable as the same
actor, even though he couldn't have been more than 3 or 4 since the
last time we saw him on ER, so I was curious if he had continued an
acting career between then and now. Glad to know that there are
parents out there without sinister motives for enrolling their
toddlers into Hollywood. That makes it even better that he was part
of the finale.

Oh no, I'm sure he doesn't. The parents probably showed him the old
episodes to tell him what the fuss was about.

Or the parents didn't want it for him. But I don't hold anything
against the parents who pursue an acting career for their kids. That
thing is will they stop if the child doesn't want it anymore or try
to keep the child grounded in reality.

It's quite possible, since the actor's deaf, that there's just no roles
for him in Hollyweird, even with his digital hearing aids (and yes, I'm
taking IMDB with a grain of salt).

not watched it much since Carter left the first time.

Not to my recollection! That was the very first time we saw the
entire hospital. A nice last tid bit along with playing the original
theme song twice with also a modified version of the original
beginning credits sequence complete with Dr. Benton doing the martial

It was apropos. They were part of the original cast and the two break
out stars, the original romantic story line, that everyone was agog
over. It would had been very strange NOT to see them again. I wonder
if anyone has told Doug and Carol that it was Carter that received
that kidney yet? LOL!

Yes, I like the way they did that. The place existed before September
24, 1994 (or as the time it was in the show itself in the first
episode St. Patrick's day 1994) And it still exist here on April 3,
2009. I wonder when we will get a reunion movie with Dr. Rachel
Greene, five years from now?

I will miss this show too. As I said before, it is an old comfortable
padded chair.
