You know a show is dying when the number of words posted about an episode
doesn't even hit double digits!

Was Neela's phone supposed to be a product placement, BTW? My
husband's convinced that it was, the way she kept flashing it around
(even given that it was a Groundhog's Day redux, with certain bits
repeating). Cute touch, the busker playing a cover of "Mad World" (her
phone's ring tone).

And was it me, or did Alex Kingston have an "I showed up for THIS?"
look on her face at the end of the first interview scene? ("Bugger
this, I have a TARDIS to catch!")

Why? The obvious if it was product placement. To be fair, I guess
anything they use unless it is a construct of their own prop
department will seem like a Product placement. You can argue the
classical music they played for the girl on the i-Pod was product
placement.

No, that was a result of Neela nt knowing what the heck she wanted?

Unless my server missed some posts, there wasn't a single word posted about
last week's episode, so this one is already more popular than that one.
When some of the most devoted viewers of a long running program don't have
anything to say about it anymore, it's time to pack it in. The fact that
NBC ordered 3 more episodes for this season says a lot more about the
overall qualitty of NBC's schedule and ER's competition than it does about
the show.

The January 8th one. It is possible people missed it, but yeah, it is
a sign.

Actually ,right after I sent the message, I remembered watching it, because

For some time now, I've had a real love/hate, or perhaps hate/love would be
more appropriate, thing going with NBC. As the original hater of reality
shows, I think theirs are the most repulsive (I only know about them because
of the endless slimy previews and bits of endings I get while waiting for a
10 pm drama to start).

But I do really enjoy their "real" reality shows. The beauty of Law and
Order and ER is that you can imagine these scenes actually playing out in
real life. And unlike ER, Law and Order IMO is having a very good year even
after two decades on the air. Sisto and Anderson are two guys you can
believe as cops, while Linus Roache is something of a driven prick,
constantly at odds with his ADA and his boss. And of course, playing on the
reality theme, the plots are plucked from the headlines.

But now, in possibly the strangest move ever, NBC is packing in its best
(only?) good thing, these 10 pm dramas, in favor of a washed-up hack (Leno)
and his frivolous show-biz interviews. What if that fails, as it should?
Merge with CBS, the way XM did with Sirius? Now, at 10 pm on CBS/NBC,
CSI/Law and Order Philadelphia/Baltimore!

Then there's ER. Aside from Angela Bassett doing her star turns, there's not
much going on. I agree with the other poster about Alex Kingston. She gave
off a vibe of someone doing a porn shoot against her will. And when the
former total fuck-up (Archie) become the show's moral compass, it really is
time for the end.

After three extra episodes, of course.

You're right, not one post was made about it on the 15th or 16th
passed, not even over the weekend. It was the first after the break
maybe people missed it, as opposed to not it being worth commenting
about; but even if that is true, it *does* say something about the
devotion to the show by people.
