The medical drama ER just won't die. It now looks likely
the series will return for its 15th season with "new
characters coming in as interns and medical students",
according to producer David Zabel. Maura Tierney and
Goran Visnijc will be leaving through the revolving door
and former ER star Noah Wyle will return for a guest
appearance this season. "It's not the traditional exit,"
Zabel hints of the departure of their characters, Abby
and Luka. "They're not walking off into the sunset, nor
is it tragic."

Probably leaving the "revolving door" open for their possible return
later, or maybe there will be a spin-off show: "The Abby & Luka Show"
or perhaps "ER: Croatia". ;-)

New characters when the show is ending could also be setting up a
possible spin-off show.

"After ER", maybe, in which the characters being spun off from "ER"
travel to South Korea and open a hospital? (Jamie Farr starring as
Kerry Weaver is, as always, strictly optional.)

Almost, but they'll have to update it, so the characters will go off to
Iraq to set-up a mobile hospital. ;-)

Best news i've heard all year. MT not GV. Maybe there is
hope for this show yet.

Some possible titles for a new show:
"Abby: Super woman"

ER was cancelled only 10 minutes after she joined the cast?!? That's
news to me. The last few seasons must have been my imagination.

No her new show will be cancelled ten minutes after it starts.
Especially if it is on Fox.

No her new show will be cancelled ten minutes after it starts.
Especially if it is on Fox.
That would be the cue for one of my favorite digs at Fox:

Peter: Everybody I've got bad news. We've been cancelled.
Lois: Oh no Peter! How could they do that?
Peter: Well unfortunately Lois, there's just no more room on the
schedule. We just gotta accept the fact that FOX has to make room for
terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's
Show, Wonder Falls, Fast Lane, Andy Richter Controls The Universe,
Skin, Girl's Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky
Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunmen, A Minute with Stan
Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddy, The Street,
American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Louie, And Greg
The Bunny....
Lois: Is there no hope?
Peter: Well I suppose if ALL those shows go down the tubes we might
have a shot.
(Family Guy teaser, after its success on Adult Swim prompted Fox to un-
cancel it)

Oh, if *only*.
Well, it hasn't really been ER since the 7th season, but rather The
Maura Tierney Sulking Hour.

As soon as MT leaves this show she'll probably be transplanted to L &
O: SVU. Like ER, we will never be rid of her, or the constant praise
given to her mediocre acting skills.
