What position/title was Cvetic? Was he the head of psychiatry?

That actor (John Terry) was in Full Metal Jacket as the editor of the
newspaper. He was damn good too.

I only remember seeing him on the first 8 episodes or so of Season I. He was
a psychiatrist and he didn't want to commit someone that Susan later
committed. Later he ended up with psych troubles himself, after a patient
attacked him in the ER.

Div's own psychological problems began showing early in season 1, long
before he provoked the drunk guy into going after him. It was part of why he
provoked him. They never followed through. Just bobbed/doyled him.

Right. He was shown doing an early morning dictation on a "patient"
whose symptoms bore a remarkable resemblance to his own.

He was last seen on-screen in the T-Day episode of S1, and Susan later
discovered that his apartment was empty and he wasn't working at County
anymore. I assume he must have shown up at work in the meantime... or
at least I would *hope* that Susan would have checked in with him at
some point in the month between his failing to show up for T-Day dinner
and finding out on Xmas Eve that he didn't work there anymore.

Anyhoo, Cvetic eventually wound up married to a woman who owned a chain
of mortuaries (as seen in a cabbie's dating service book), so it's not
like there was never follow-up on what happened to him (as was the case
with Bob and Doyle).

That manic bit with him wandering down the center of a street taunting cars
in downtown Chicago pretty much summed up his state of mind.

He also plays "Jack's" father on Lost and is wonderful. He plays him in
the flashbacks...great work. Of course that show is great, imo.
