Some of the best episodes this season focus on that once glorious
past. =A0 This last one was another mixed bag. It was definitely better
than the last one. =A0 But we still got some cliche's. =A0 Does anyone

=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Cate was back. She hasn't given up
on conceiving a child. =A0 The number 15 got overused. =A0 That would be
too much on Sesame Street. =A0 I'm with the husband. Getting an egg from

Spare the flames.
=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0Brennan is still
invested in Lucy's case. =A0 We'll probably never hear from the deadbeat
dad/uncle again. =A0 What if Ms. Knight was the namesake, literally?
This girl is rather bright. Although she knew the truth, it didn't
bother her. That's nice. This aunt was a real mother to her. Cate
appeared to do the same for her niece.
Wallace Shawn gave us some more delightful moments. I remember
his work on Clueless, Murphy Brown, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
While in college, I attended a production of this play. It was a good
choice for the episode.
I could have done without Jerry hitting on Carter. Pump his
stomach! That stuff looked nasty. But put it in a can, choose a
snazzy name, and voila! Schools really mess up teaching Bill.
They concentrate too much on the tragedies. Why not alternate with the
comedies and histories? I did read all the plays. Awhile back I wrote
an Amazon review on one biography.
The Reduced Shakespeare Company had a point. Bill wrote about 13
comedies. But he could have gotten away with only one. Several use
the same plot devices. When did he start writing for this show?
Neela stayed busy. The tire iron guy showed why to do self
surgery. Remember when Benton had transplant teams waiting? But he
didn't have consent yet. Wouldn't blood types be checked more
thoroughly? Thankfully, the mom didn't die. I expected Neela to cut
too much. By the way, going to Venice with Brennan seems risky.
Is it over with Morris and Claudia? The poor guy's been
deprived. I haven't eaten Necco wafers in years. But they didn't taste
that great. Get some Smarties or Sweet Tarts! Alright, just bring
on the chocolate.
Who delivers candy in a brown paper bag? Did she get it at a
self serve counter? Just give him the whole plastic bag. It was
sweet.
We had another cop stereotype. Doctors appear to have a code
too. She still seems like a nice person. I hope things work out.
But that's up to the actors and writers.
It will be fun to see more of the old gang. Is Carter really
going to work for food? Can he still practice in the area? If the
vending machine has been broken that long, fix or remove it. Suppose
Cate had been nicer. Someone might have told her earlier.
I still remember that machine that took your money, then gave you
a Sunkist. There was no time to push any buttons. Hopefully it's long
gone. Soon this show will be. Suppose we could press buttons on
plot. Let's start now.

Sincerely,
Darren Thornton

Sure she could die it is not as if she is a character that is part of
the show. I mean not all the sad stories turn around and have a happy
ending in ER, so yeah, there is a chance she could die. As for
adoption of Lucy what do you mean? Banfield? I don't think so. She
wants another baby but a nine year old kid.

People have moved on and new people have come back. He is a huge
legend to those who KNEW him. Those kids and new arrivals like
Banfield and Gates didn't have a clue; why should they? We know what
kind of a "legend" he was but they had no reason to. It is not like
Neela and Jerry and Archie would tell war stories to the kids.

Yeah, WE do but they didn't. They are not going to gush over someone
they don't know. Indeed, Morganstern's mentor was totally unknown to
everyone despite him being the guy who built the ER. Time moves on. I
found how he was greeted realistic.

I believe he is dying judging from the far off look of despair he had

diabetes. Perhaps he has kidney cancer, or virus that attacks that
organ.

Isn't Lucy about the same age as Banfield's son would be had he lived? I
agree, it would be a huge contrivance in real life for Banfield to become
Lucy's foster mom, but this is ER. Remember how Jeannie got Carlos? Or how
Carol almost adopted the little Russian girl? ER might do it, though I
think Banfield is going to end up with a younger child.

In real life, this is a teaching hospital and there's a whole new group of
residents and med students every year when the old group finishes. Carter
hasn't been around in more than 4 years, the length of an entire med
school/residency cycle. It makes sense that no one has heard of him.
Dozens of others have come and gone in the interim.

Even Morganstern wasn't recognized by anyone, he had to tell them who he

in the interim that time has kind of stood still for him while it has moved
on rapidly for everyone else.

Many people live long lives while having diabetes, but I don't think

And, like any other chronic illness, renal failure becomes more common the
older one gets. Most dialysis patients aren't diabetics, they've lost renal
function due to hypertensive vascular disease.

Kidney cancer doesn't require dialysis. A virus that destroyed his kidneys
is possible, but it doesn't mean he's going to die from it.

Doesn't bother me much, either. Finding an African American egg donor is
tough enough, why not find one with whom you have some genetics in common?
The pregnancy is going to happen in a lab, it isn't like Banfield wants her
niece to get busy with her husband. That would be freaky.
It is odd but it doesn't really bother me.

I think it revealed Jerry has a sense of humor. I thought the whole thing

do with Jerry's sense of humor than his sexuality.

Why?

Because the dollar sucks against the Euro? Or, it did when I was in Venice
last summer. Otherwise, I thought it was very romantic. I'm a sucker for
Venice, most romantic city evah.
