... had me yelling at the screen a few times, as in "Why am I watching
this?"

Aside from Stamos, who is now endlessly frustrating and really belongs on a
daytime soap with his jutting chin handsome doctor routine, the worst was
Morris letting that girl leave the hospital after not one but two witnesses
said she had waltzed into traffic. Wasn't Morris now supposedly the guy with
guts, standing up even to the intimidating Banfield? But of course, that
wouldn't make for "good TV" in this case, so Morris became spineless once
more.

I see William H. Macy is the next old star up for humiliation.

That is a police matter. Morris can't just hold her. He would be put
up on charges of unlawful imprisonment.

See above. There was nothing he could do. Did you want him to tie her
up with her parents there?

You missed my point. Because he had witness statements that the girl was
suicidal, he should have pounded that into the parents' heads so they
wouldn't just waltz out of the hospital as if nothing had happened. That's
something he could have easily done.

I understood you. The father wasn't hearing it. He was totally
hostile to it and IIRC he threatened to go over his head and
complain.

He wasn't hearing Morris because Morris was skirting the issue. He never
used the word suicide, as in "Your daughter was trying to OFF HERSELF!!"

Of course, the writers had to play it that way, or there's no "drama".
